We are committed to maintaining your privacy as you use this site. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our main menu.

The website collects no personal information about you when you visit our website unless you specifically and knowingly choose to provide such information to us. If you choose to provide information to us, we use it only to fulfill your request for information or services. 

Our website automatically records website usage information that we analyze statistically to track operational problems, to prevent fraud and to improve the effectiveness, security and integrity of the site. This information does not identify you personally and we do not use this information to track or record information about individuals. We will disclose this information to third parties only in aggregate form or as may be required by law. We collect and store the following technical information:

  1. Date and time of access
  2. URL address of the AMN webpage visited
  3. Internet domain and IP address from which our website was accessed
  4. Type of browser and operating system used to access our site (if provided by the browser)
  5. URL address of the referring page (if provided by the browser)
  6. Completion or success status of the request for a web page or other on-line item
  7. File size of the webpage visited

We have appropriate security measures in place in our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected from you at our site.

Privacy specifics !

  • The general public may use the public areas of the website without providing any personal information to us.  We may ask for an email address only if it would be required to respond to a request you have made.
  • We do not collect, give, sell or rent any personal information to third parties for commercial marketing.
  • Only Arkansas Master Naturalists (Members) have access to the private sections of our website and are pre-registered with information provided by their chapter. Only name and email address are used and only for account identification purposes.
  • Members may also opt to subscribe to specific forums or threads which means your email address will be used to send information when new posts are made. All email from the forum site includes a link that allows you to opt out from continued subscription to that thread or forum. Forum administrators may use your email address to contact you if necessary.
  • Your email address is not revealed by the site except if your email address is specifically provide as part of an article or post to the site. If provided the email address will be protected by a spambot challenge not easily solved.
  • Your IP address may be used to identify duplicate user accounts (which are forbidden under the forum rules).
  • Cookies are used to store visitors' preferences and record past activity at a site in order to provide better service when visitors return to our site, such as indicating which threads you have read.
  • Members may choose to edit or create an article on the web site. Your identity is recorded and your name may be viewable by those who look at the history of the pages you have worked on. Your IP address may be used to identify possible abuse and may be blocked if abuse is detected.
  • Our website contains links to the websites of other public and private organizations that are outside of our control. When you follow a link to another site, you leave our site and your website interactions are no longer protected by our privacy policy. We are not responsible for, and do not endorse the privacy or security practices of other websites.

Sharing of information with third parties

With the exception of the issues discussed in this section we do not share your information with third parties. Your information may be disclosed if:

  1. You initiated a transaction that requires personal information to complete the transaction.  For example a Credit card purchase etc.; or
  2. when we are legally required to by a court order; or
  3. to verify or enforce compliance with the policies governing our website and applicable laws; or
  4. to protect against program failure, misuse or unauthorized use of our website.

Children's Privacy

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. The website is not structured specifically to attract anyone under 13. However, we recognize that there may be users under age 13 who may view our site. The privacy policies that apply to all site users also apply to those users under 13.

Future changes

From time to time, we may use user information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If our information practices change at some time in the future we will post the policy changes to our Web site to notify you of these changes. If you are concerned about how your information is used, you should check back at our Web site periodically.
